Bard Composix E/X Mesh
The Bard Composix L/P Mesh is specifically designed to meet the meticulous challenges of laparoscopic ventral hernia repair. It has large pores in its Bard Soft mesh polypropylene component (see photo below), which makes Composix L/P easy to insert through a trocar and leaves less foreign body mass than traditional polypropylene mesh.

Large Pore – Lighter Polypropylene – L/P. Many surgeons have asked for an easy to deploy permanent barrier solution for their laparoscopic ventral hernia cases. Bard Composix L/P combines two clinically proven biomaterials, Bard Soft Mesh and ePTFE, in one product, to satisfy your needs. Additionally, larger sizes of Bard Composix L/P are packaged with an Introducer Tool, which allows for a simple insertion technique. The features and benefits of Composix L/P include:

  • Made with lightweight, low profile polypropylene Bard Soft Mesh that is 60% lighter than traditional polypropylene mesh
  • Easier handling and laparoscopic insertion – all sizes can fit through a trocar
  • Optional Introducer Tool, which is packaged with larger sizes, makes insertion even easier
  • Two distinctly different sides: polypropylene Bard Soft Mesh on one side to promote tissue ingrowth and sub-micronic ePTFE on the other side to minimize tissue attachment to the prosthesis
  • Sealed Edge: Overlap of ePTFE protects the edge of the mesh from visceral attachment
